This established leader in the maintenance and repair of motors, pumps, gearboxes, transformers, and other rotating equipment is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to grow their customer base and develop long-term partnerships across industrial, manufacturing, mining, and utilities sectors.
With a team of five in sales, reporting into the sales manager and senior leaders looking toward retirement in the next five years, this is the perfect time to join, make your mark, and set yourself up for future leadership opportunities.
The Role
- Manage and grow a portfolio of industrial customers across Queensland.
- Identify and convert new business opportunities across manufacturing, mining, utilities, and heavy industry.
- Visit customers on-site to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Work closely with internal technical teams to scope, quote, and deliver maintenance and repair services.
- Take one longer regional trip every 6 weeks to visit key clients.
About You
- Trade or technical background — ideally with hands-on experience in rotating equipment or electric motors.
- Proven success in business development or sales within industrial, engineering, or heavy equipment sectors.
- Strong relationship-building skills with a high-touch, solutions-focused approach.
- Comfortable in a sometimes fast-paced environment, responding quickly to customer needs.
- Existing relationships in the industrial, manufacturing, or power generation sectors will be highly regarded.
- Comfortable spending most of your week on the road meeting clients.
- Motivated by growth targets and the opportunity to progress into leadership in the future.
