Are you a proactive and strategic planning professional with a passion for property development? We’re seeking a Planning Development Manager to play a key role in tassisting the acquisition, planning, and development lifecycle of significant residential and retirement living projects across Queensland, and Northern NSW.
About the Role: This pivotal role will see you assisting in guiding projects from site acquisition through to planning approval, ensuring timely delivery and full compliance with regulatory frameworks. You will collaborate across design, development, legal, and consultant teams to provide planning leadership and support the successful execution of multi-site village developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning strategy and manage approvals for multiple residential and retirement village projects.
- Liaise with councils, planning authorities, and local communities to ensure alignment and successful stakeholder engagement.
- Review planning controls, zoning, and development potential during site acquisition due diligence.
- Oversee consultant coordination including planners, engineers, and surveyors to produce required documentation.
- Monitor planning timelines, compliance, and risk management, reporting to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support seamless transition from planning to delivery.
- Tertiary qualifications in Urban or Town Planning (a Master’s or PIA membership highly desirable).
- 5+ years of planning experience, ideally with experience to large scale residential or retirement projects
- Strong understanding of Queensland and Northern NSW
- Track record of managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and reporting skills.
