About the Role:
We are seeking a commercially-minded Reliability & Maintenance Manager to lead and evolve the maintenance function at our high-output manufacturing site. This is a hands-on leadership role with the scope to drive both immediate operational performance and long term asset strategy.
You will be responsible for ensuring maximum uptime across plant and equipment, building a preventative maintenance culture, and aligning the maintenance function with production, quality, and commercial goals.
You’ll be a key member of the site leadership team, with the autonomy to challenge, influence, and drive positive change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance trades and technicians
- Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns to minimise production disruption
- Build and sustain a preventative and predictive maintenance culture
- Manage and optimise CMMS systems, maintenance schedules, and asset lifecycle data
- Partner with operations, production, and sales to align priorities and plan proactively
- Drive continuous improvement across equipment, systems, and maintenance processes
- Manage contractor engagement, performance, and compliance
- Ensure a strong safety culture and full adherence to WHS, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Contribute to capital investment planning and long-term reliability strategy
- Champion operational excellence through structured problem solving and root cause analysis
- Proven experience in a similar maintenance leadership role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Background in industrial sectors such as plastics, polymers, packaging, or FMCG manufacturing preferred
- Strong working knowledge of CMMS systems and asset management principles
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage performance, and build accountability
- Sound technical problem-solving ability with a sense of urgency and practical execution
- Strong communication skills — capable of influencing at both shop floor and leadership levels
- Experience managing contractors and ensuring safety compliancen across plant operations
- Exposure to plastic extrusion or injection moulding is highly regarded
